WORKSHOPS
Once again, we have a year chock full of fun and interesting
workshops. We think you’ll agree that there’s something for everyone.
Workshop descriptions will be posted as soon as they become
available.
Member Fees: $30 for outside instructor-led workshops and $10
for guild member-led workshops.
Non-Member Fees: $45 for outside instructor-led workshops
and $15 for guild member-led workshops.
Workshops take place on Saturdays from 9 AM until 3 PM.
Workshops are held at either the Pepperell Community Center
(PCC) or the Groton Senior Center (GSC). Both facilities are
ideal, with plenty of space and light.
All workshops MUST be paid for when you sign up. You are not
guaranteed a place unless you have paid your fee.

SCQG Workshops 2009-2010
Bali Bowls Basic Bowl Workshop with Carol McLeod
Date: Saturday, October 24, 2009
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: The Groton Senior Center
Cost: $30 includes cost of pattern
Pattern Required: Bali Bowls by Aunties Two
In a few hours, you can make a wonderful bowl from 2½” strips of fabric and clothesline.
Use up leftover binding (2 ¼” strips can work) for a scrappy look or choose single or
coordinating fabrics for a more uniform look. (Goal is to make a small bowl 8 1/2” wide by 3”
deep)
Crazy Quilting Workshop with Marianne Hatton

Cost: $30
Addition Fees: Optional $12 Kit fee
Learn to piece CRAZY QUILT BLOCKS. Quilt block assembly method – machine piecing
(opt. hand piecing), and hand embroidery incl. spider webs and ribbon roses and more.
The project goal is a 12 inch square piece of embroidered crazy piecing, suitable for a
pillow or small wall-hanging.
Sweatshirt Jacket Workshop with Kathie Beltz
Date: Saturday, December 5, 2009
Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Additional Fees: none
Create an easy quilted jacket. Basically, a layer of fabric (quilt blocks, strips, squares) is
quilted to the framework of a sweatshirt, creating a jacket. The technique is easy, and can
be used to make an assortment of jackets. The jacket in this class will use Stack-N-Slash
blocks with a variety of fabrics.
